I am from Akron, Ohio and graduated from Hoban High School in 1962 and Notre Dame University in 1966. After graduation from Notre Dame I was in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970 including service in Vietnam in 1968.
After working as a writer and editor for Goodyear Tire and Akron University I went to Akron Law School and graduated in 1981. After practicing law in Akron I worked as a staff attorney for the 5th District Court of Appeals in Canton, Ohio until 1995 when I joined the Scanlon & Henretta law firm in Akron.
I started the Summit County Court of Pleas mediation program in June of 1998 and started the mediation program for the Portage County Court of Common Pleas in August, 1999 where I stayed until March, 2017.
By mediating more than 5,000 civil and domestic relations cases for the Summit and Portage county courts as well as private meditations, I rank as one of the most experienced litigation mediators in Ohio.
